Crowdfunding
A specific project, funded by your fans.
Studio session, music video, vinyl pressing, mix and master, release campaign. You set the goal, everyone gives what they want, and every contribution lands with you the moment it's made.
The vinyl pressing
One fan chips in €20, another €50: the total rises and their contributions land on the wall.
Fictional example: Malo Ferrand's page, made-up amounts.
You describe the project
A clear title, “Vinyl pressing of “Marée basse””, the goal, a date if you have one, and why. A photo comes with it, picked from the title, or your own. Fans chip in more readily to a project they understand.
Everyone gives what they want
From €5, with their first name and a note. Apple Pay, Google Pay or card, without leaving your page: the music doesn't stop. Every contribution becomes a story with the project's photo, and their followers land on your page.
The money arrives as it comes
Every contribution is paid straight to your Stripe account, at payment time. No threshold to get it, nothing to refund: if the goal isn't reached, you keep what was given and adapt the project.
The project moves forward on your wall
The gauge rises, every contribution is on the wall with the fan's note, and you can reply. When the project comes out, they're the first you tell: they'll share it.
You keep everything, you decide everything.
Everything is paid out, nothing is held
The money goes to your account without passing through VYU, contribution by contribution. The fundraiser ends on its date or when you close it. VYU keeps 5% + €0.25 per payment (5% + $0.30 in dollars), payment fees included, unless the fan chooses to cover them.
A goal, not a promise
The goal gives direction, it doesn't hold the money. Tell your fans what the fundraiser covers, and what you put in yourself: a goal that covers half the video makes perfect sense.
No digital reward
A contribution is support, not a purchase. No tiers, no exclusive track in return: the fan chips in because they want the project to exist, and their story tells their followers.
Before you start
- What if my campaign doesn't reach its goal?
- You keep what was raised: each contribution is paid straight to you by Stripe at payment time. The goal gives direction, it doesn't hold the money hostage. A campaign ends on its deadline or when you close it.
- Where does my fans' money go?
- Straight to your account. Your fans pay on your page, one of them or several together, and Stripe sends every payment to your bank account, without going through VYU. For an item on your wishlist, you then order it yourself from the shop you choose.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing to create your page. On each payment received (gift or contribution), VYU keeps 5% + €0.25 (5% + $0.30 for a page in dollars), payment fees included. When paying, your fans can choose to cover this fee. Stripe pays the money into your account.
- Do I have to declare what I receive?
- Possibly, depending on your situation and country. Money from your fans may count as income from your activity, to declare for tax, and for social contributions if it becomes regular. On Stripe, you sign up as “Individual / Sole proprietor”: that's its box for individuals, it doesn't create a company and doesn't exempt you from anything. VYU doesn't give tax advice: if in doubt, check with your tax office or an accountant.
Everything on one page.
One address for your bios: your tracks, your platforms, your shows, and everything your fans can do for you.
